This course covers teaching aquatics. All units need to be completed in order to be fully qualified. Once you have demonstrated competence against all of the assessment criteria (Theory & Practical) you will then be a fully qualified Level 2 Swimming Teacher. Please note: candidates must already have Swim England Level 1 Swimming Assistant (Teaching) before booking.
Learners must: • be 17 years of age or older on the first day of the course.
This course is split into two halves:
- Theory – This will be delivered remotely online through ‘Microsoft Teams’ and will consist of 4 x 3 hour sessions
- Practical –This will take place at John Warner Sport Centre pool and will be 6 sessions of teaching and then have a meeting where feedback and assessment results are given.
Once you have completed your theoretical training you will then be able to book on to your practical session at John Warner Sport Centre which will include more course content and your practical session and assessment at the pool.
Assessment is conducted by the course tutor and on successful completion of this qualification you can be employed in any Swim England approved Learn to Swim Programme
Courses leading to a Swim England qualification are subject to an internal and external verification process. To secure
This qualification may enable to secure or voluntary work as a teacher of aquatics, utilising the Swim England Learn to Swim Programme or equivalent schemes.

Summer Course - Saturdays 10, 17 and 24 July, 9am till 12noon
