Swim England Level 1 Assistant Teacher – SEQ
The SEQ Level 1 Swimming Assistant (Teaching) qualification is a practical qualification which will give you the skills needed to support a swimming teacher. Successful completion of this qualification will allow learners to assist a qualified level 2 swimming teacher in delivering high quality inclusive swimming lessons. Learners must: • be 16 years of age or older on the first day of the course.
You must be competent against all of the assessment criteria set out by the Awarding Body, Swim England.
This course is split into two halves:
Theory This will be delivered remotely online through ‘Microsoft Teams’ and will consist of 3 x 3 hour sessions
- Practical This will take place at John Warner Sport Centre pool and will be 2 x 30 minutes sessions. You will then have a final Microsoft Teams meeting at which the tutor will provide feedback and assessment results.
Once you have completed your theoretical training you will be able to book on to your practical session at John Warner Sport Centre. The practical session will include more course content and assessment at the pool.
Following completion of this qualification you may wish to progress to the SEQ Level 2 Teaching Swimming qualification.
Course dates 2021:
Theory: Tuesdays 29 June, 6 and 13 July, 6-9pm
Practical: Saturdays 17 and 24 July, 9am-12noon
Theory: Mondays 1, 8, 15 and 22 November, 9am-12noon
Practical: Saturdays 27 November and 11 December
Theory course £100 (inclusive of all Swim England fees)
Practical course £250 (inclusive of all Swim England fees)
