I've always enjoyed being active and love to try as many forms of fitness as possible. I've always been really interested in human biology, and how the body works fascinates me. When it comes to exercise I don’t really have a favourite type of training, I do a mixture of all types of strength training, cardio, circuits or hypertrophy. I don’t have a goal either, so it’s just a case of exercising because I enjoy it!

Why train with me?

The Health and Fitness industry is filled with contradictory information, so for many people it can be confusing, intimidating and comes with no results. I like to keep things simple and follow methods that are proven to work. So whether it's weight loss, performance or rehabilitation, I can help you achieve your goals.

My personal training style takes clients to their limit, through exercise they wouldn’t normally find themselves doing in a gym environment, but ones that are extremely effective for a number of different fitness goals. Interests

My main area of interest in the sport and fitness world is powerlifting and strongman. I’ve followed both sports and the athletes that compete in them for a number of years and have always been fascinated in just how much weight a human body can move in so many different ways.  These athletes have influenced me to adapt my own training to become more focused on building overall strength and refining technique, particularly in the three powerlifts, (Squat, Bench press and Deadlift). The overall goal is to reach a competitive level and to test myself at an IPF powerlifting meet. Outside of the gym my interests include vegging out with a video game or playing around on an instrument with my friends.

Why train with me?

I’ve been working in the industry for a few years now and have met a number of different people with very diverse training goals; every one bringing new challenges and learning experiences which has helped me grow as a trainer and broaden my knowledge and areas of expertise. Whether it is training for competitive athletic performance, summer time selfies or post-natal pound shedding, I can create a tailored exercise programme for you and guide you towards achieving those targets, one short term goal at a time. One thing I’ve learned during my time in the fitness industry, is to look at training as a game of inches not miles, focus on achieving small victories every session to keep you motivated and very soon all those inches add up.

Areas of interest

Sports was always my main interest at school, but after suffering a chronic leg injury as a teenager I couldn’t walk for 3 years. I became overweight through inactivity, and this is when I first discovered the gym and weight training - I suppose you could say it was love at first lift!

Being in the gym allowed to me regain my competitive spirit. As I could no longer play the sports I loved, the gym allowed me to constantly challenge myself on a weekly basis. Whether it was setting a new personal best on a lift, or running a greater distance, the gym helped me re-establish my love of fitness.

Why train with me?

I mainly specialise in strength and hypertrophy (muscle building) training, and I’ve had particular success in utilising strength training to help women of all ages and abilities achieve their personal fitness goals. I’ve overseen many complete body transformations - from men looking to increase lean body mass to women looking to lose body fat, and even people needing assistance in rehabilitation from conditions or injuries needing help getting back to a normal life. Strength training is the foundation around which I base all my clients' training as it is a corner stone of any training goal. It allows you to build more muscle, drop body fat, run faster or jump higher at a much quicker rate. Through education and careful application I’ve found the best and quickest ways to achieve a variety of fitness targets and I provide the best structure and support to help you achieve your goals.

Interests

I love all areas of fitness. I’ve always found it fascinating how the body can dramatically change and adapt to different forms of physical activity. My main area of interest is building muscle and increasing strength, both to help burn fat and strengthen the body to prevent injuries.
I am also very interested in functional fitness. Functional fitness exercise can help strengthen areas that traditional weight training may not target, and will help with your day-to-day physical activity.

Why train with me?

I have been training myself for 5 years, and during this time I have gained a lot of knowledge on exercise, fitness, and nutrition, on what is effective and what isn’t. I have helped clients and friends achieve a broad range of fitness goals such as weight loss, muscle gain or just overall strength development. I like to set my clients goals to keep them constantly motivated and to challenge them to achieve their full potential.

Interests

I am dedicated to keeping fit. I use a variety of different methods and styles, but mainly use body weight exercises, incorporating free weights and resistance machines, as well as using high intensity interval training (HIIT) to maintain high levels of cardiovascular fitness.

Besides the gym I enjoy going out to eat, and also cooking my own meals from scratch. I’m a fan of football, boxing, the NFL and athletics, but regardless of which sport I’d say I’m overall I’m much more interested in the conditioning and training athletes undertake in preparation for the events. I also enjoy travelling, summer holidays and taking my dogs for long walks.

Why train with me?

I became a personal trainer because I love being active and healthy. I understand how difficult it is to sustain a balanced diet and regular exercise, that’s why I’m here to help! I love seeing people transform to be the best version of themselves through dedication and hard work. I love meeting new clients, helping them set achievable and realistic goals, whether it is weight loss, body toning, strength and conditioning, muscle building, training for a specific sport or even general fitness. I like taking clients out of their comfort zone so they can reach the next level. When writing programmes for clients I assess what is suitable for them by looking at their goals and needs, I then look to introduce weight and resistance training which boosts their metabolic rate along with callisthenics (body-weight exercises) and cardio exercises. I ensure exercises are performed with correct posture and techniques to remain injury-free.

I  come from a sporting background and I’m very competitive! I'm dedicated to keeping fit and I explore all avenues of fitness and physical challenges. I have excelled in distance running from 5km-full marathons and I've taken this further with obstacle course races around the country.

I maintain an all-round approach to fitness in my own training using Olympic and powerlifting movements, and by using high intensity interval training (HIIT) styles to maintain high levels of Cardio fitness.

Outside the gym I’m an avid rugby fan and always try to watch international and club games. Whenever possible I love to travel, visit new places and countries and learn about their culture and history.

Why train with me?

I have worked in the fitness and leisure industry for over 10 years and gained experience in working with clients with a variety of different needs, from one-to-one training or group sessions, I can help clients achieve a multitude of fitness goals such as weight loss, strength and conditioning, or sports specific training.

I have built a repertoire of knowledge and skills to motivate clients who have struggled to get that bit extra from their training. When I work with my clients, I like to set short and long-term targets to keep them on track, and work to transform their weaknesses into strengths. I do this through tailored workout programmes and conditioning exercises to help them excel in their overall fitness and achieve their ultimate goals.

Interests

I have always played sport, from playing football from a young age, to growing up moving into boxing.  I box competitively and have trained with Team GB. I like to push myself mentally as well as physically using a variety of fitness methods. Outside my boxing training I enjoy keeping my all rouind fitness level high and I like to watch football and boxing and of course, Netflix.

Why train with me?

I really believe in the benefits of training with another person. The motivation and drive alone is completely worth it, and if that person is someone who lives and breathes sport and fitness and is completely dedicated to helping you progress and develop, then I guarantee that you will be astounded by the results!

I have seen clients progress from a very low fitness and confidence level to being stronger, fitter and completely 'at home' in the gym. Building people’s confidence in the gym - specifically in the weights area - gives me a real sense of achievement. Whether you need help with weight loss, injury/rehabilitation, getting stronger or just want to become more confident in the gym, I can help!
